This is probably the hardest category to choose from, because we get COUNTLESS submissions everyday and we have to take our time to listen to them all, and to narrow them down to a select few is really difficult. But in the end, Hoodie Allen’s No Interruption took it all. Check back as Hoodie prepares to drop his next project next month.
Runner-Up: No Budget
I guess Chief SOSA had a decent year. He got off house arrest, he probably had the best remix of the year with I Don’t Like with Kanye West, Pusha T, Jadakiss and Big Sean, and made a track with possibly everybody he could. BUT, looks like people just agree that he shoulda stayed indoors… BANG BANG.
Runner-Up: Lil Wayne
Looks like another win for G.O.O.D. Music as they take the best Album Artwork for 2012. The album art looks like the cover that Riccardo Tisci did for Watch The Throne but of course with a twist by Kanye West.

2012 was a GREAT year for mixtapes. Almost everyone put out a tape for the masses, but there could ONLY be one winner and that went to Big Sean’s Detroit. This is going to hold us down until Sean’s Hall of Fame drops sometime this year and if you haven’t grabbed your copy, get it HERE.
Runner-Up: 1999
Alicia Keys had a great 2012. She put out her new album Girl on Fire, and put out a track alongside 50 Cent and Dr. Dre. We can only hope for what Alicia has for us next.
Runner-Up: Angel Haze
I seriously thought this one would be close between Frank Ocean and The Weeknd, but looks like most of the fans prefer Frank more. Frank Ocean had a great year putting out a great album in the form of Channel Orange. 2013 looks to be a promising year for Frank Ocean.
Runner-Up: The Weeknd
When it comes to hype, Kendrick Lamar does not disappoint. We all had high hopes after he put out #Section80 back in 2011 and then he released a jem when Good Kid m.A.A.d. City dropped. EVERY song on the album is perfected and easy to listen to. Dunno how he can top this album but we are always waiting.
Runner-Up: Kid Cudi
Juicy J featuring Weezy and 2 Chainz is the ONLY track that’s being played throughout the clubs STILL to this day. Even though I believe it should have been a tie between this and French Montana’s “Pop That” both equally got played.
Runner-Up: Birthday Song
Only seems right that if you take Song of The Year, you might as well have the Music Video of the Year also. The video is so simple that it fits PERFECTLY with the song. This song lives on G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer. And HOPEFULLY, we can hear this Cruel Winter that Big Sean and Q-Tip spoke about.
Runner-Up: Swimming Pools
When we heard that Kanye West and the rest of G.O.O.D. Music were gonna put out an album, we ALL got excited and we weren’t disappointed. They gave us great tracks but the main one that stood out was “Mercy”. Crazy Beat + Crazy Lyrics = DOPE ASS SONG.
